Doug Mitchell
Doug Mitchell , the founder and Chief Deliverer of Results of RentalMetrics, lives in Des Moines, Iowa with his family. Doug escaped the Southern California technology rat race in 2005 by executing "Geographic Arbitrage". That is, he sold his coastal home and moved to the heartland of America where the economics of housing, commuting, and living are far kinder.
The 7 years leading up to the formation of RentalMetrics were spent building start up software firms in key leadership and management positions. Most recently, Doug held the position of Vice President at Dispatching Solutions (DSI), a logistics and GPS tracking solution provider to the equipment rental sector. At DSI, Doug cultivated relationships with key enterprise clients including a contractual endorsement with Caterpillar for its North American Rental Division. After spending years working closely with 6 sigma project teams trying to reduce expenses and remove waste in rental operations, Doug entered and completed CAT's 6 Sigma Black Belt training program.
Doug writes a personal blog, called Moment's of Clarity, where he elaborates on business, family, and life in the Midwest from the perspective of a geographic arbitrageur. In addition to articles published in Rental Management Magazine and Rental Product News, Doug has recently released a book called,
"Confessions of an Ex-Enterprise Salesperson: What I really meant when I said, _________________".
The book represents a "download of all the lessons, insight, and strategies that I uncovered through nearly 15 years of enterprise software sales process experience (on both sides of the buying equation).
